Choose an RV or vehicle inverter by the battery system and equipment it will supply. A portable inverter for tool batteries, a battery-bank inverter and a split-phase installation serve different setups. Match the input voltage before considering wattage.

Portable AC and USB power carried in the vehicle Compatible DeWalt 20V MAX batteries; one to four packs. One battery supports up to 250W. Two or more compatible batteries support up to 500W (ETP500) or 600W (ETP600) continuous, subject to battery condition, discharge capability and connected load. ETP500 / ETP600 — 120V AC plus USB outputs. These use compatible tool batteries, not a 12V vehicle accessory socket, and do not charge those batteries.
A dedicated 12V, 24V or other matching battery bank with single-phase loads RBP3000: 3000W continuous. Check combined running watts, startup load, battery/BMS discharge capability and the exact output voltage/frequency. RBP3000: 12V DC → 120V AC / 60Hz example
RBP3000: 24V DC → 120V AC / 60Hz example
Other DC/AC versions are listed on the product page; the inverter does not automatically select between them.
An installer-planned RV system requiring split-phase AC SPT6000: 6000W continuous / 12000W peak; peak is not a continuous load rating. Match battery voltage, AC output and frequency and review circuit loading. SPT6000: 24V DC → 120V/240V AC / 60Hz example
There is no 12V DC input option. A 24V model cannot be selected for a 12V battery system without a different, properly designed power system.

Check appliances and charging arrangements

  • Check electrical input power. Add loads used at the same time. Use a microwave’s input rating, not the cooking-output figure.
  • Check motor and compressor startup. A refrigerator, pump or air conditioner can require more power at startup. Verify the appliance requirement and the inverter’s available surge capacity and duration; do not select on running watts alone.
  • Confirm voltage and frequency. RBP3000 is single-phase. Its 220/230/240V versions do not provide two 120V legs. Choose a split-phase model only where the AC system calls for it.
  • Plan the battery and recharge method. Inverter power does not establish battery runtime or alternator/charging capacity. Have the battery, BMS and charging equipment checked for the intended use.

What to buy and prepare

  • ETP500 / ETP600: inverter, compatible batteries and a separate compatible battery charger. Batteries and charger are not included; the ETP inverter does not recharge the batteries. It is not a 12V car-socket inverter.
  • Battery-bank inverters: confirm the exact DC/AC/frequency version, a suitable battery system, battery charging equipment and installation parts. Check the selected product’s package contents; cable and protection requirements depend on the installation.

For a battery-bank installation, have the battery/BMS, DC cables, fuse or breaker, ventilation, grounding and AC connections checked for the selected model. Follow its manual and use a qualified installer for fixed wiring. Do not backfeed an AC outlet or connect inverter output directly to grid or shore power.

For fixed RV wiring, have an installer review separation between shore power and inverter output, protection and the selected model’s connection requirements. Do not assume a transfer switch, battery charger or automatic switchover is included; confirm those functions for the system you plan to install.
