A high input voltage inverter converts power from a higher-voltage DC battery bank into AC power for appliances and equipment. The most important decision is the battery-side voltage. A 72V inverter, for example, must be paired with a compatible 72V nominal battery system.
Start with the battery voltage
Choose a 60V inverter, 72V inverter, 96V inverter or 110V DC inverter according to the nominal voltage and operating range of the battery bank. These input options are not interchangeable.
DC input and AC output are separate specifications. A 72V pure sine wave inverter may accept 72V DC and provide 120V AC, while a split phase model can support 120V and 240V circuits. Always confirm both sides before ordering.
